OTTAWA (CIS) – The Laval Rouge et Or top the Football Reporters of Canada – CIS rankings for the fifth time in as many polls this season. The reigning Vanier Cup champions received 22 of 29 first-place nods – their lowest total this fall – and 285 points from FRC voters to remain in front of the No. 2 Western Ontario Mustangs (266 points), No. 3 Calgary Dinos (234), No. 4 Montreal Carabins (177), No. 5 Sherbrooke Vert & Or (176) and No. 6 McMaster Marauders (142) in the rankings. OTTAWA (CIS) – To no one’s surprise, the Laval Rouge et Or (2-0) stay on top of the FRC-CIS Football Top 10 poll for the third consecutive week after a 24-14 win over Montreal (1-1) in front of 16,046 in Quebec City. Despite the setback, Montreal remains at No. 6 in the rankings. For the first time this season however, the reigning Vanier Cup champion Rouge et Or didn’t sweep the first-place votes as two nods went to the second-ranked Western Ontario Mustangs (2-0) after their 48-21 thrashing of McMaster in Hamilton in front of 5,563 at Ron Joyce Stadium.
