1st Down: What are your thoughts/reactions to last week’s victory at UBC? Tom: I really liked how the defence performed in the red zone – I thought it was the single biggest contributor to the win. Being able to run out the clock by moving the sticks a few times on their last possession was also encouraging. The receivers also had another strong game. There were, however, a couple of things that were a little concerning. “Huddle up with BT” is the new name for the popular Friday game day luncheons that began last year. In the second season, the audience is expected to double. Huskies Head Coach Brian Towriss and Shaw TV CIS Analyst and former Huskies quarterback Laurence Nixon co-host the luncheon series at the Saskatoon Club. They provide insider access every game day. The Outsider TV pre-game show will be broadcasting live on Friday from the alumni patio of the Graham Huskie Clubhouse. The show will begin at 5:45 p.m. and run until about 6:20 p.m. We promise to have an even bigger and better show than last time. Not only will we still have all the analysis and Huskie Football talk with the Outsider crew, we will also have special guests. OutsiderTV returns as we webcast our 2012 pre-game show live from Griffiths Stadium before the game. The Huskies host the Alberta Golden Bears on Friday night to launch the much anticipated CanadaWest season. Kick-off is at 7:00pm. The pre-game stream will begin at 5:45 and go until about 6:15 which will give you time to get to the stadium. The stream will also be available on mobile devices, so you can watch from the field or in the car. On Friday night, the Huskies kick-off the CIS regular season as they host the Alberta Golden Bears at Griffiths Stadium in PotashCorp Park. The theme for this game is Support our Troops. The Huskies will wear their camo jerseys. Kick-off is at 7:00pm with the pre-game BBQ slated for 5:00pm. Please watch and share the trailer below.

The Huskie football program continues to lead the CIS with the best game day experience in the country. This year, the Huskies will be improving the game day presentation and expanding on some traditions. While there will still be many surprises at the games, the Huskies have announced the game themes. Friday, August 24 vs the Guelph Gryphons will see the Huskies host the only national non-conference game in the country. The team has adopted a slogan this season, which will be reflected in the game theme: Earn Everything.
