University of Saskatchewan football head coach Scott Flory announced his special teams staff for the 2017 season Tuesday morning highlighted by veteran coach Jerry Friesen. University of Saskatchewan football head coach Scott Flory announced his offensive coaching staff for the 2017 season Monday afternoon highlighted by coordinator Marcus Crandell. Cross posted from Crandell joins the Huskies as offensive coordinator after a 11-year career as a quarterback in professional football and a five year coaching career. Crandell played in the Canadian Football League for the Edmonton Eskimos, Calgary Stampeders and Saskatchewan Roughriders from 1997 to 2008, he also spent time in NFL Europe and the XFL. Ronnie was a cornerback, free safety, and strong safety in the NFL for fifteen seasons during the 1980’s and 1990’s. Preparation for the 2014 Huskie football season reached a fever pitch this morning as the team began training camp. About 100 players are taking part in this year’s training camp which will last until the team scrimmage next Friday. The Huskies open the CanadaWest season at home against the Manitoba Bisons on Sept 5. It was a cool, overcast day with a strong breeze to begin training camp. The Huskies have had a few changes to the coaching staff and you could really see a difference in this practice when comparing to the past few years.
