Huskies announce new recruits at 2014 Dogs’ Breakfast

The University of Saskatchewan Huskies announced their 2014 recruiting class this morning in front of over 2000 fans at the annual Dogs’ Breakfast.

The 23 recruits announced will join 76 veterans and uncommitted recruits at this weekend’s spring camp. The first practice is tonight at 6:00, while the second practice will be Friday at 5:30. Saturday will feature two practices, at 10:30 and 3:30, while the spring scrimmage will be on Sunday at 10:30. All practices will be at Griffiths Stadium.

The recruits joining the Huskies this year include:

  • Defensive back Gabe Simons (Luther Lions – Regina; Team Saskatchewan; Team Canada)
  • Wide receiver Yol Piok (O’Neill High School – Regina; Team Saskatchewan; Team Canada)
  • Offensive lineman David Singer (O’Neill High School – Regina; Team Saskatchewan; Team Canada)
  • Defensive back  Brett Boechler (Riffel Royals – Regina; Team Saskatchewan)
  • Defensive end Tristian Koronkiewicz (Vancouver Island Raiders – BCFC)
  • Linebacker Kristian Domingo (Vancouver College)
  • Running back Tyler Chow (Notre Dame – Calgary; Team Alberta; Team Canada)
  • Defensive back Marco Scafidi (Notre Dame – Calgary)
  • Receiver Brett Enns (Androssan, Alberta)
  • Running back Kayden Johnson (LCBI – Outlook; Team Saskatchewan; Team Canada)
  • Defensive  back Tom Fast (Aden Bowman; Team Saskatchewan)
  • Defensive lineman Mitch Lyons (Bishop Mahoney)
  • Offensive lineman Cole Klughart (St. Joseph; Team Canada)
  • Defensive  lineman Evan Machibroda (Holy Cross; Team Saskatchewan; Team Canada)
  • Center Andrew Serke (Holy Cross; Team Saskatchewan)
  • Offensive lineman Connor Berglof (Tommy Douglas; Team Saskatchewan)
  • Quarterback Kyle Siemens (Regina Thunder)
  • Defensive lineman Adam Morrison (Saskatoon Hilltops)
  • Defensive end Brennen Thorpe (Saskatoon Hilltops)
  • Receiver John Trumpy (Saskatoon Hilltops)
  • Defensive back Taylor Rehn (Saskatoon Hilltops)
  • Defensive back Chris Friesen (Saskatoon Hilltops)
  • Receiver Graham Unruh (Saskatoon Hilltops)

Saskatoon Hilltops running back André Lalonde, who signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the offseason, has also committed to the Huskies should he not make the Roughrider roster.
