“Huddle up with BT” is the new name for the popular Friday game day luncheons that began last year. In the second season, the audience is expected to double.
Huskies Head Coach Brian Towriss and Shaw TV CIS Analyst and former Huskies quarterback Laurence Nixon co-host the luncheon series at the Saskatoon Club. They provide insider access every game day. The sessions feature surprise guests, the occasional opponent coach, great locker room stories, game day previews, a media panel and Q&A from the audience- it’s exclusive access to the Huskies huddle, and you don’t want to miss it. Coach Towriss will even tell you the first play the team will run!
Huddle up with BT raised over $5,000 for the team last year. “The funds raised from this luncheon series help us pay for some extra coaches to travel on the road, which is really important to us,” said Coach Towriss.
“I think they are a great way to kick off game day,” added Towriss. “Our fans starts talking about the game at noon and it has become part of our coaches and players pre-game routine.”
Nixon does a great job of bringing football stories front and center. “I love hosting these lunches as it is a way to stay engaged with team,” he said. “But more importantly, it is fun to talk football, create more hype for the game, and get everyone excited.”
