Richard Zacharius is a linebacker who comes to the Huskies from the CJFL champion Saskatoon Hilltops. Last year, he was an all star in the Prairie Football Conference. His experience with an outstanding junior program was great preparation for his move to the Huskies. “The Hilltops expected excellence, and the Huskies expect excellence too. The systems between the two programs are similar, and a lot of the players know each other.”

Richard talked about the first three days of Huskie training camp: “We’re learning a lot of new stuff. The coaches are really pushing us, and we’re getting better as a team. I’m hustling around to the ball; there’s lots to learn, and I’m trying to get better every day.”

Zacharius was asked about his decision to join the Huskies. “It was partially because I live in Saskatoon, but it mainly came down to the integrity of the program. The Huskies strive for excellence, they’re here to win, they breed winning players, and I want to be a part of that.”
