Kris Charuk is a linebacker who joins the Huskies after playing for Balfour Collegiate in Regina. Kris was also a member of Team Saskatchewan’s under 18 basketball team.
“I’ve always wanted to be a Huskie, as long as I can remember,” is what Kris told Huskie Outsider about his decision to join the Dogs. He will begin his UofS education in the College of Arts and Science.
Huskie Outsider spoke with Kris at the midway point of camp. “It’s been awesome. The guys are great – they make you feel really comfortable. The veterans have been outstanding – they love to teach and help you see what they see, and make you a better player.” He was asked to assess where he is at as a football player. “My skill set is pretty good. I need to work on my size, and that will come with time and working out. I’m pretty happy with myself and how I’m fitting in.”
Coach Towriss provided these observations about Kris: “He’s very athletic, with a great vertical jump. He gets around the field pretty well and arrives with some impact. We’ll see how quickly he makes the transition to college football.”
