New recruits announced at Dogs’ Breakfast 2012

The twelfth annual Dogs’ Breakfast was held this morning, with 2000 attendees raising $102,000 for Huskie football scholarships.

Former CFL and NFL quarterback Jeff Garcia was this year’s keynote speaker. He will be joining the team as a guest coach for the first two practices of spring camp, which begins tonight at 5:30 at Griffiths Stadium.

Former Saskatchewan Roughrider and CFL on TSN analyst Glen Suitor was on hand to announce the 20 new Huskie recruits. Here is this year’s list of new Huskies:

  • Brayden Twarynski, defensive lineman (Team Alberta – Bishop O’Byrne High School in Calgary)
  • Brendan Earnst, defensive back (Saskatoon Evan Hardy Collegiate)
  • Keegan Arnyek, defensive back (Team Saskatchewan – Vanier Collegiate in Moose Jaw)
  • Matt Bonaca, quarterback (Team Alberta – Salisbury High School in Edmonton)
  • Brandon Stewart, running back (Salisbury High School in Edmonton)
  • Devin Logan, running back (WJ Mouat High School in Abbottsford, BC)
  • Brydon Ozmun, receiver (Team Saskatchewan – Nipawin)
  • Deion Bain, receiver (Team BC – WJ Mouat High School in Abbottsford, BC)
  • Jarvis James, running back (Bishop O’Byrne High School in Calgary)
  • Braxton Lawrence, defensive back (Saskatoon Hilltops)
  • Lane Bryksa, offensive lineman (Saskatoon Hilltops)
  • Caleb Eidsvik, defensive lineman (Team Alberta – Lloydminster)
  • Drew Digout, offensive lineman (Okanagan Sun)
  • Kurtis Wegren, offensive lineman (Team Saskatchewan -Swift Current)
  • Evan Johnson, offensive lineman (Team Saskatchewan – Campbell Collegiate in Regina)
  • Evan Rutherford, offensive lineman (Team Alberta – Harry Ainley Titans in Edmonton)
  • Kris Charuk, linebacker (Balfour Collegiate in Regina)
  • Drew Bexson, running back (Lloydminster)
  • Michael Dejarlais, linebacker (Team Saskatchewan – Miller Comprehensive High School in Regina)
  • Ryan Breadner, offensive lineman (Cherokee, Texas)
