As a freshman recruit in 2011, DL Glen Joorisity had an impressive spring camp. Now with a year’s experience and training with the Huskies under his belt, he is ready to make a push for some playing time in 2012. “I feel a lot stronger now that I’ve had a year to train with the Huskies. I’ve added lots of weight as well which is good. I feel a lot more comfortable with technique and what’s going on.” Looking ahead to the fall, Joorisity has set some personal goals for himself. “I want to keep progressing, do my best, and eventually start competing for a starting spot.”
Defensive line coach, Aaron Moser, couldn’t be more pleased with what he’s seen from Joorisity. “He’s had a great camp,” Moser stated after Saturday’s first practice. Coach Moser added that Joorisity gives the coaches some flexibility in that he can play inside at tackle or off the edge.
We caught up with several of the veterans, for a quick chat, after they concluded their meetings with position coaches following the Sunday scrimmage. We’ll be posting more of these short interviews in the upcoming weeks, along with profiles of each recruit and discussions with the coaching staff.
