Unsung Hero: Huskies over UBC edition

After each game, we award a game ball to our Unsung Hero, a player whose name you may not have heard over the PA system, but made a huge contribution to the team.
Tom: The offensive line had a great game. Hopefully they can build off of Friday’s performance and continue to get stronger as the season progresses.

MIke Fuller was part of an offensive line that blocked for over 300 yards rushing (Deker Mortensen for Liam Ricahrds Photography)

Dog Whisperer: I’m picking Ben Heenan who has been rock solid despite being shifted to tackle. With all the changes on the line, this guy is the heart and soul of the group and quietly shows up and does a great job every game.
Dallas: One of the most consistent players on offence this year has gone relatively unnoticed, which is a good thing. Brad Nehring has done an excellent job at centre this year, adjusting to frequent quarterback changes and new offensive plays. There were huge running lanes open on Friday, with most of the 311 rushing yards gained between the tackles, and Nehring was a big part of this.
Ryan: It’s hard for me to come up with someone different as I thought the entire O-Line played well. Hats off to the guys in the trenches who opened up big holes and allowed the running game to get on track.

Thats great to see the oline working so hard. Heenan moving out to tackle has been good as he is a strong player. I have also noticed Hinds who was the center but moved to gaurd to help out and even better when the Huskies needed a left tackle he stepped in there for them. Seems to be a very versatile player…
