WR Kit Hillis joins the Huskies after 3 years with the Saskatoon Hilltops of the PFC. Having been a part of a Canadian Bowl championship team in 2010, he brings some championship experience and a winning attitude to the the UofS. Coach Towriss has compared Hillis to former Huskie standouts Leighton Heron and Travis Gorski. “I’ve always looked up to those guys, sort of as role models,” Kit stated. “They had similar size as me. Like them, I hope to bring a lot to the table in the return game, as well as at receiver. I’m a hard worker and feisty. I’ll do what I can to win.” Unfortunately, Hillis suffered a rib injury early in Sunday’s scrimmage. It will only delay his training for a couple of weeks, but it limited the reps that he would have received in the Green & White game.
Receivers coach, Jason Sulz, spoke to Huskie Outsider about Hillis and his performance in camp. “Kit is as advertised,” states Sulz. “He’s one of the hardest workers out there. He is a real tough kid with good character. He was a little bit inconsistent during camp, but we have complete faith that he is going to help us quite a bit this year at receiver and on special teams.”
