Huskies starting QB, Laurence Nixon, had a strong performance against the Western Ontario Mustangs in Friday’s non-conference game. He played the entire first quarter and completed 9/11 pass attempts for 111 yards. He spent a few minutes with the Huskie Outsider, following the game, to discuss the Dogs’ starting offence. “The 1st team offence looked really good tonight,” he stated. “We struggled a little bit, during the week, in getting a push with our OLine, but a lot of that is because you can’t cut block during practice. They’ve (Western) got a great team, but it was great to see us march down the field a few times.” Nixon noted that there are still things to work on. “We’ve got to be better in the red zone. We’ve got a little film on that now and we’ll look at that. Their secondary was a very physical secondary, which is what we’re going to see in Calgary, so that was good preparation for the offence.”
