Huskies Practice Report – March 25, 2010

The Huskies continued their winter workouts this morning at the SaskTel Soccer Centre. It was a spirited workout with the offence and defence trying to get the upper hand. Near the end of the scrimmage, tempers got a little heated on both sides, but level heads prevailed. What is clear is that these players are ready to get out there and hit the field for spring camp, which will run from April 29 to May 2 at Griffiths Stadium.

Seamus Neary was singled out during defensive drills for his play. Offensively, Dathan Thomas picked up from his tremendous showing at the Canadian Football Scouting Combine, running the ball hard and showing great speed. The team will meet for two more indoor workouts next week before breaking for final exams.

Prior to today’s practice, defensive back Andrew Abbs and wide receiver Jade Etienne had a bet. The loser, as you will see below, had to pay homage to the 1980′s, at least from the waist down, for the practice.

So, without further adieu and with the permission of the bet loser (and encouragement of several players and coaches), I present Andrew Abbs:

Remember the 80s?

Here are a few more pictures from this morning’s practice:
